Katarzyna Moś was born on March 3, 1987, in Ruda Śląska, into an artistic family. Her father, Marek Moś, is the conductor of the Aukso Orchestra, and her mother, Joanna Moś, played the viola for many years. Kasia has an older brother, Mateusz, who is a violinist and also plays in the orchestra led by their father.
From an early age, Katarzyna was closely connected with music. She graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin General Music School in Bytom, where she studied cello and piano, and initially also violin. At the age of 14, she began taking vocal lessons with Elżbieta Chlebek, which marked the beginning of her later singing career.
Kasia Moś – the beginnings of her career
In 2002, Katarzyna Moś recorded her first music demo, which caught the attention of Robert Janson. In 2006, she took 10th place in the Polish national final for the 51st Eurovision Song Contest with his song “I Wanna Know.” At that time, she was also collaborating with bands such as Stetsons, Big Band Lotharsi, and The Fire.
Following her initial success in Poland, Katarzyna moved to Las Vegas, where she took part in auditions organized by Robin Antin, founder of the girl group The Pussycat Dolls. Her performances at the Viper Room club, collaborations with stars such as Kelly Osbourne, Mýa, and Carmen Electra, and participation in Eva Longoria’s charity auction were significant milestones in her international career.
After returning to Poland in 2012, she played the role of Cordelia in the musical King Lear, staged as part of the Sacrum Profanum Festival, and took part in the third edition of the talent show Must Be the Music. Only Music, where she placed third.
In October 2015, Katarzyna Moś released her debut studio album titled Inspination. The album was promoted by the single “Addiction,” which qualified for the final of the national selection for the 61st Eurovision Song Contest. Although she did not win, she earned the recognition of both the public and critics.
Eurovision 2017
In 2017, Kasia Moś once again attempted to represent Poland in Eurovision, this time with the song “Flashlight.” On February 18, she won the national final and went on to represent Poland in the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv. Ahead of the contest, she embarked on a mini promotional tour across Europe, and ultimately placed 22nd in the Eurovision final. In 2024, she served on the jury selecting Poland’s representative for the 68th Eurovision Song Contest.
In 2021, she released the album Moniuszko 200, recorded with the Aukso Orchestra, and in 2022, the album Karin Stanek, featuring her interpretations of songs by the legendary Polish singer. Katarzyna Moś is also actively involved in various social and charitable campaigns. She has appeared in advertising campaigns, TV programs, and has participated in numerous concerts.
Katarzyna Moś is a remarkable artist who, through her talent, hard work, and the support of her family, has achieved significant success on both the Polish and international music scenes. Her musical and social activities make her one of the most influential figures in contemporary Polish music.
