Radzimir Dębski – the story
Jimek, or Radzimir Dębski, was born on April 30, 1987 in Szczecin, Poland. He comes from a musical and artistic family. His father, Krzesimir Dębski, is a renowned composer, while his mother, Anna Jurksztowicz, is an actress and singer. It can be said that Jimek took something from both parents, which can be seen in his later career. However, before becoming a well-known figure like them, he emphasized the importance of a solid education, which greatly influenced the quality of his work. He graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the University of California, Los Angeles.
His first major success, which also gained recognition, occurred in 2012. At that time, Radzimir Dębski won a remix contest for the song End of Time by American singer Beyoncé. He outperformed over three thousand contestants in the competition
Jimek – the music
Another significant event in the musician’s career was his project, Hip-Hop History Orchestrated by Jimek. This project was a symphonic interpretation of songs by iconic rappers such as Jay-Z, 50 Cent, and Kendrick Lamar. The recording has already reached over seven million views on YouTube.

Although Jimek is best known for his work as a film music composer, this is not his only achievement. He also presented his undeniable musical skills in a project called 2015, in which he collaborated with rapper Miuosh and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra. The album was a great success reaching fifth place on the OLiS chart and earning gold record status. One of the standout tracks from the album, “Crux,” has garnered over a million views on YouTube.
Jimek – film music
Here we come to Radzimir Dębski’s greatest specialization, which is film music, for which he is most associated. It is not without a reason – we could hear his music in many productions, ranging from lesser-known films to more prominent ones. This variety showcases Jimek’s versatility as a composer. Let’s explore some of the more recognizable films and series that feature his work.
Movies
The film most closely associated with Dębski is certainly “Sztuka kochania. Historia Michaliny Wisłockiej” (The Art of Love. The Story of Michalina Wisłocka). Directed by Maria Sadowska, this Polish film has been well-received by audiences, attracting around 1.7 million viewers and ranking among the most-watched Polish productions of that year. The film also earned about PLN 35.6 million, which confirms its commercial success. On Filmweb, many viewers described Dębski’s work on the film as brilliant. His contribution was appreciated in the form of the 2017 Eagles award in the “Best Music” category. In the same year, he also won the award for the best composer of the year at the Transatlantyk Festival. Although this award was not given particularly for his work on the film about Wisłocka, it is clear that this project played a significant role in his overall success.

Another extremely important film to which Dębski contributed was “Atak Paniki”. This production won nine awards. The soundtrack composed by Jimek was so highly regarded that it was released as a music album, available both on Spotify and in physical formats including vinyl.
Dębski’s music can also be heard in other film productions, such as “Apartament”, “Nocna cisza (Night silence), “Kobieta z…”, and both parts of the horror film series “W lesie dziś nie zaśnie nikt” (Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Today).
TV series
One of the productions most closely associated with Radzimir Dębski is the series “Ranczo.” This cult series aired from 2006 to 2016 and earned six awards, including five Telekameras. Its average viewership varied from 4.7 million in the first season to a peak of 6.2 million in the seventh season. All these viewers, while watching their favorite episodes, heard music composed by Radzimir Dębski and his father, Krzesimir Dębski, who collaborated on this project. What’s more, it was their song that could be heard in the series’ opening credits. Their work was so well received that they were also hired to create the music for the feature film Ranczo Wilkowyje, which premiered in 2007. The Debskis’ album featuring forty songs from “Ranczo” is available on Spotify.
Another TV series featuring Radzimir Dębski’s music is Sexify. This is a 2021 Netflix production that garnered significant attention due to its controversial subject matter. Mentioning here this TV series is not accidental. Analyzing the films and series that showcase Jimek’s music reveals his refusal to limit himself to a single style.
