Biography

Danzel, born Johan Waem, is a singer known for his high-energy dance music. He was born on November 9, 1976, in Beveren. His musical career began as a vocalist and bassist in the band Scherp op de Snee, and later he sang backing vocals in the group L.A. Band. In 2003, Danzel became one of the top 20 finalists of the Belgian edition of Idol, which marked the beginning of his solo music career.

Career

He gained real popularity after releasing the single “Pump It Up!” in 2004. The track became a hit in European clubs, reaching high positions on international music charts, especially in the club music category. Shortly after, on November 15, 2004, he released his debut album titled “The Name of the Jam”.

In 2006, Danzel took part in the final of the Polish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Undercover”. Despite finishing in ninth place, his music continued to gain popularity. Subsequent singles, such as “Jump”, helped sustain his success on the international music scene.

His second studio album, “Unlocked”, was released on February 8, 2008. Danzel continued his concert career, performing in various countries, including Poland. He gained particular recognition in Poland, where his concerts proved especially popular.
