bryska – a colourful bird

Bryska is an artist whose work cannot be ignored. Her unique stage image and fairy-tale voice have won the hearts of many fans. Who is the ethereal pink-haired fairy who has taken the Polish charts by storm?

Gabriela Nowak-Skyrpan is a young, twenty-two-year-old, singer creating multi-genre music, e.g. indie pop, synth pop and electronic music. She debuted in 2019 as Gabees. In 2020, she performed as Bryella, to later decide on the well-known nickname bryska. The artist writes and composes her songs herself, as well as for other artists.

I am bryska

What is another meaning of ‘bryska’? The word ‘brysko’ is a synonym for the word ‘smutno’ (sad), and gained popularity after the song “BFF” premiered. Despite this, bryska’s music is rather cheerful, energetic, a bit nostalgic. In 2021, the singer released the single ‘Naiwna’, however, the songs ‘Panika’ and ‘Lato (pocałuj mnie)’ remixed by Mandee, brought her more popularity. Later on, the mini-album ‘jestem bryska’ was released, and by the end of the year bryska published as many as 17 songs. In April 2022, the album ‘moja ciemność’ was released. Her single for the film ‘365 dni: Ten dzień’ named ‘You were in love’ hit the streaming charts in many countries. Also, bryska greatly contributed to the creation of Doda’s album ‘Aquaria’, writing music and lyrics for many songs.

bryska – an unknown face

Heavy makeup, a pink wig and shiny, neon clothes compose the artist’s stage image. This creation emerges from her great shyness – until mid-2021, bryska was an anonymous artist, not revealing her face or personal details to the public. Only recently, she has shown her face without makeup.

Bryska takes inspiration from the colourful 80s and 90s, as well as Asian culture. She is a fan of pop culture herself, especially manga and anime. The singer often goes to conventions (e.g. Pyrkon and Animatsuri), and has cosplayed many characters. She is a gamer as well – one of her favourite titles is The Witcher by CD Projekt Red. On her social media, she presents herself as an ordinary girl with passion and great love for music.

Bryska is an extremely talented artist, who has a great career ahead of her. In 2023, she started a concert tour called ‘Nasze LOVESTORY tour’, and tickets for this event sold out instantly. Let’s hope that the artist will not rest on her laurels, but will continue to develop musically.
